Dear Roman Parents,
We have had an awesome week! It was very busy. First we have been working on our Roman buildings and news report. Most of us are started on our buildings and one of the groups has finished. All of our classmates have finished recording the news report and everyone did a great job. Mr. Grillo is going to make it into a video and put it on our blog. We had to wear togas when we did our report. This morning was very creepy. Our power in the school went completely out so all we had was the light from the windows. It was very dark and cold. The bathrooms were extremely dark as well. As you can tell we have had a very busy week.

Roman V News
A Gladiator Died
It is October XV the LXX BC. I am Gaius in the bloody colosseum. Ahala killed Servius a professional Gladiator. It drove the crowd crazy. In the Bloody collossom yesterday at II o’clock there was the biggest fight in the world! It all came down to Ahala the slave from the Gauls. He was a velitis. His spear and no armor help him move fast so he could win. The fans did not like it at all. They let a lion out of the shoot. With a giant growl the lion bit into the flesh of the slave. The slave fought back. He stabbed the lion with his spear. Soon they both died. The crowed shouted hurrah. I will get back to you if any more action comes up. Remember Gaius with the roman games.

Schools are Sick
It is AUGUSTUS XI 252 BC and our schools are getting ready to shut down because teachers are getting very sick along with passing away. Also students are getting the horrible diseases that the teachers have.
On Dice Martise a disease started and it has been spreading around four a weak now. Doctors have not found out what the dieses is yet. They have almost found out what it is so that they can find a cur four it. The people that have the horrible dieses get drowsiness, throwing up, and not eating. The doctors are trying to use the medicine wisely so that they will have enough for all of the patience. The doctors have been using many different plants to cure the patients. The medicine that the doctors used was Elecanpne. It is working the best.
I am Rugula reminding you about our horrible disease that is going around. We are just reminding you that if you start throwing up, coughing and drowsiness you will need to get to the hospital very fast.

The Roads are Dangerous
It is VI o’clock in the morning Martius XXI, IXX BC. I’m Catula standing outside of Rome on a small section of the 53,000 miles of road in our empire. It seems that there have been robbers on the road. At night the robbers have been coming out and taking all the travelers stuff.
Food is one of the things they are stealing. The food could be pork, fruit and if you have money they will steal that to. If you do get robed it will be very dark and scary. It will be scary because you will be all alone with the robber and because he will have a knife. Also if you get robed the Army will come out and help you get you stuff back. They will also protect you from any harm if they can. I’m Catula reporting from Rome. Hope to see you next time.

Emperor poisoned
Barbra: It is one fine afternoon on martius XXVIII, I am Barbra standing in the emperor’s house with him. It seems his food had got poisoned by somebody that is not very happy with him. Emperor will you tell what’s going on?
Emperor: This is how it started to happen yesterday afternoon when I was eating eggs and cheese. I tasted something that was not eggs and cheese then I started to get a little dizzy and my mouth got very tingly too, so I went to lie down for a while. Then I felt a lot better after that long nap on my soft bed.

Emperor: We are lucky that nobody else had got poisoned and we will send some solders out to get the person that had poisoned me so no one else will get poisoned.

Empty Bath Houses
It is III: 00 in the afternoon in September on the XVIII and the year is LXXIII AD. My name is Amandus and I’m standing here in front of the bath house and it seems that the bath house is out of water.
At XI: 00 last night the aqueduct clasped which caused the bath house to run out of water. The army is going to come in and help fix the aqueduct so the bath house will have water so people can take bathes again and relax. Some builders will help the army figure out how to the bath houses can have some more water. In the bath house swimming pools called the Frigidarium, Tepidarum and Caladrium are draining like crazy and since there is so much water we might be close to a flood. I just heard that the forum is in danger because it is going to be hit by the water. We might have to call a bunch of people to come and try to stop the flood. One of the workers just told me the drain in the Frigidarium is stuck open so we can’t stop the water. To stop the water we are going to get some slaves from the British island and we will have the army come in and help too.
The reason why all this happened is because the aqueduct collapsed. I will keep you informed if any thing else happens. I’m Amandus live on Empire V news see you next time.

Dear Loving Parents,
We have had an exciting week. Many of us have gotten far on our Roman work. Some of us have even built our building on our Roman town! We are using sugar cubes to build our building and we are using hot glue to glue to them together. If you can please remind me to bring sugar cubes. Our class has been studying our buildings and finding the dimensions for our Roman town. We are using Sketch Up to design a 3D model of our buildings. Before we starting building we had to put the models footprint on the board. The roads are being made out of rocks, sand, and glue.
This week our class has almost finished their Roman news report. Next week we will begin taping each news report and the video will be placed on the blog. Overall our few days at school this week have been very busy and exciting. We look forward to next week so we can finish our city and other work.
