Snowball Fight!

Hi I’m Kevin and my favorite activity is snowball fighting. Because I love snow but what I like the most is snowballs because you get to throw them at people. Last year I had a big snowball fight and all my friends that live by me piled me with snowballs. Brrrrrrr it was cold! Then they all went home to get hot coco and I did too. You can also make snow cones when you’re throwing the snowballs. I made snow cones last year and I ate them. When I ate it my tongue was frozen like an icicle. Snowball fighting is wonderful!

My Room

One day after school I went home and invited over some friends to play with me in my room. My room has a lot of breakable stuff in it and having all of those people in the room with me I felt very nervous. I have a lot of glass flowers on my long dresser. All of the glass flowers are yellow as a dandelion. I also have some dolphin pictures.. The dolphin pictures are as sparkly as the ocean.
Next my room is getting arranged and painted. The room is going to be pink with Bratz wall paper because my mom thinks I’m a brat so the wall paper will match me. My bed is on the left side of my room so I have more room to play. My dresser is on the right side of my room because the TV is on the dresser so I can see it at night when I go to bed. Obviously now you have a picture in your mind what my room looks like and you know how nervous I felt with all of the people in my room with me.

About Me

Hi my name is Kyra and I’m going to tell you what I like to do. First I’m going to tell you about how I like to ride horses. I like going on horse back rides with my dad because it’s a great time for him and me to spend some time together. He’s always at work and doesn’t get home till late at night when I’m in bed. We always take our absolute favorite horses and they are Dubs and my hoarse Egg Head. Last summer I went on my first trail ride on my own horse. I was scared! My dad didn’t take Dubs instead he took Red our old race horse. So when dad got on him Red started to dance like a Mexican dance horse in a parade. I think he wanted to run, at least that’s what daddy said.
Secondly I’m going to tell you about the time I went on the Tremors at Silver Wood. When I went on the Tremors I was so scared because the sign showed a guy standing up holding his head in the air wile riding. I heard someone say that the drop was 220 feet steep! Then I got really scared. I went on the ride I screamed my head off and when we got to the tunnel they took our picture. So when I got off the ride we went to the gift shop and looked at our picture it so funny because me and mom were crouched down and dad was just sitting there. And when we saw our picture we began to laugh our heads off. I asked mom if I could get a toy but she said NO. Truly you can see that I like going on horse back rides with my dad and I like going to Silver Wood.

Dear Parents,

How are you doing? We hope you had a great week because we certainly did and your about to find out about it. This Friday we had a town meeting. At the meeting four kids went up and shared one slides from their Native American power point so other people could see what we were doing in our class. Also at the meeting we listened to Mr. Harley talk to us about Veteran’s day. He played taps for us and told us about his Dad who was in the US army. He also told us to thank anyone who is in the armed forces because they help keep our country free.
Next we are almost done with our Native slides. Some of us are working on backgrounds and inserting maps. Others are doing the final edits. We will be done by Thanksgiving. Whew!
Certainly we have had a very wonderful, busy week.

Sincerely,

Your Busy Bee

Dear Parents,

You’re the best parent ever and that is why you must read our letter. We had an excellent week and we can’t wait to share everything awesome we did with you! First we have been learning about a program called PowerPoint. We have learned how to insert backgrounds and pictures. In PowerPoint we have also learned how to get typing on the slides. In a few days our work will be on our Blog and you will have to check it out. Also we took several tests this week. First, we will tell the good news. We all did well on our spelling test and we did ok on our times two test. However, we did not study enough for our times three and only a few of us passed. It is important to practice with us every night so we can pass the next test which will be times four. Hopefully you have read our letter and enjoyed it. You probably can understand why we have been so busy this week.

Sincerely,

Your Rock Star

Good Afternoon Awesome Parents,

Guess what we have doing this week! We have been having a great time for many reasons. First we have continued working on our Native American projects. We have been typing on the computers, revising, editing, drafting, working on power point and prewriting. On Halloween we had a huge Pow Wow. We made our natives houses and had the chance to eat traditional foods like sheep brain. Another thing we have been working on is writing. We have continued to practice our organization skills. We have also been trying to use powerful words in our writing. Finally our class had PE two times this week. What fun! Clearly you can understand how busy we have been this week.

Sincerely,

Your Third Grade Smarty Pants

Native Work

Native American Halloween

The third grade class has been busily learning about Native American tribes. Students have been researching different aspects of their tribes, organizing their notes, and placing them in a color coded graphic organizer. They should be all ready to begin typing their revised drafts in another week and placing their work in a power point presentation. Below you will find pictures of the masks they created and also pictures of our Native American Halloween party which featured traditional food and games.
